Expansion of partner network in mobile communications
Munich, December 1, 2005 - 11 88 0 becomes new directory assistance partner of mobilcom, Germany's second-largest mobile provider. The 4.65 million mobilcom customers now have simple, fast and cost-efficient access to the easy-to-use services of the directory assistance company - totally independent of the individually selected mobile network. With mobilcom 11 88 0 will gain an important strategic partner, significantly strengthening its own market position in the business customer segment.
About 17.5 million Germans have signed agreements with mobile service providers (source Telecom Handel, January 2005). Today almost all providers belong to the 11 88 0 partner network. Approximately 98% of the provider customers thus have direct access to the largest service offer in the German directory inquiries market. No matter whether the consumer is looking for a telephone number, the nearest pharmacy on standby duty or perhaps a WLAN hotspot – with 11 88 0 more than 30 practical information services provide assistance for every need. The cooperating partner also benefits from this added service. Without investing in infrastructure or product development, it can exclusively provide its customers with a high value service offer that can be accessed from all networks.
In future 11 88 0 will be preset in the address book on all new mobilcom SIM cards. If the customer is looking for a telephone number, he just selects the entry “Operator Information: 11 88 0” – and will be automatically connected. In addition, mobilcom customers can send their inquiries to the directory assistance number by SMS. The two cooperating partners are currently developing accompanying marketing measures to inform new and existing customers of the new directory inquiries services.
