Strategic partnership agreed upon
Munich, October 20, 2005 – telegate, the leading directory assistance provider in Europe, and Bouygues Telecom, the third-largest mobile operator in France, have signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement. In the course of the deregulation of the French DA market, telegate will handle Bouygues Telecom's entire directory assistance operation starting January 2006. The contractual parties have agreed to keep the transaction terms confidential.
“Previous to our market entry in France, Bouygues Telecom was the second strategically important partner that decided to cooperate with telegate.” said Dr. Andreas Albath, CEO of telegate AG. SFR, the second-ranking mobile operator in France, had already opted for a long-term cooperation with the telegate Group in August 2005. “Together with the two providers, we can now reach more than 50 percent of the French mobile phone customers.” Albath said. Roughly half of all directory assistance inquiries in France are generated in mobile networks. For telegate this partnership with Bouygues Telecom marks another important milestone in its business development in France. The two companies plan to jointly market telegate’s DA number 118 000 at market opening on November 2, 2005. In future 7,7 million Bouygues customers will directly benefit from the variety of premium services offered by the DA expert. As a premium partner for the leading European mobile operators, telegate has strengthened its position in the market for alternative directory assistance providers.
